Darren leads the sales team here at Mitie Waste. Darren Kenney has 27 years’ experience in all aspects of waste and resource management including commodity recycling, integrated (total) waste management contracts, hazardous waste sales, advanced treatment and recovery techniques.

His focus is on delivering workable, creative, cost effective waste management solutions, with robust sustainability performance. Darren strongly believes in the Mitie ethos of ‘resource not waste’ and wherever there is a waste stream with useful recovery potential he will find it. Thanks to an academic background in chemistry and biochemistry, he has an enhanced perspective on the potential of material re-use. With this scientific foundation, he now successfully translates that insight into quantifiable resource recovery solutions for clients.

Darren joined Mitie in his new role as commercial lead for Mitie Waste’s new business group in 2015.  Along with his sizeable team, he drives the organic growth of the business by developing viable, long term high revenue opportunities.

While with Mitie, Darren has delivered successful waste management solutions for companies such as Lucozade Ribena Suntory, Network Rail, Deloitte, RWE NPower and Hull & East Yorkshire NHS.
