Football club – safeguarding employees, fans and club premises

The challenge

A well-known football club with a loyal national fanbase, our customer sought a vetting solution that would support their drive to safeguard their employees and their fans – many of which are young people and children.

The club had to process a large number of checks each year (1,200 CRC and 1,300 RTW pa) and their existing onboarding process for candidates was inefficient.

It included multiple different contact points, limited functionality to track the renewal CRC requirements and a reliance on spreadsheets. With volume and complexity increasing, they didn’t have the resource to meet the demand.


We implemented an outsourced vetting and checking solution. The system is a one-stop shop for all vetting and checking needs across the club, including:

  • RTW
  • CRC (including barred lists)
  • Referencing
  • CV gap analysis
  • VISA checks,

Given the clubs global reach, multi-lingual and translation services were integrated. In addition, to assist with obtaining the right to work documentation, a dedicated app was provided.


The system is integrated with the clubs existing HR database, ATS and scheduling/access systems. It enables accurate real-time management information which is used for both internal management purposes and external bodies reporting requirements.
