How we can help
Mitie brings a caring human touch to the complex but important processes of the immigration system.
Protecting the vulnerable
Those navigating the immigration system face pressures unique to their situation. Mitie colleagues act sensitively to safeguard those in our care. Robust security, health and safety measures are given equal footing with compassion for people facing challenging circumstances.

Trained for trauma
Mitie colleagues adopt a trauma-based approach to engage with those in the immigration system. This means care is shaped around the experiences of each individual. We recognise that the upheaval of leaving their homeland, and the circumstances of getting to get to the UK, can have lasting effects. As well as recruiting and retaining the very best personnel, and delivering trauma-informed training, Mitie provides appropriately equipped environments to ensure the person’s safety and wellbeing.

Visitor information
Mitie recognises that maintaining contact with family, friends and support organisations is important for the mental health and welfare of detained people. We encourage bonds to be maintained and are pleased to facilitate such visits. Further information on visiting times, policies and the booking process are available below.
