Case study 2 February 2020 Mitie HQ, The Shard – Workplace Design and Relocation The challenge Mitie as a client Mitie’s strategic and operational staff were dispersed across three London office locations. To operate as “One Mitie” it was decided to consolidate into a single location, reducing square footage whilst improving utilisation and building user satisfaction. There was an additional requirement to showcase Mitie’s technology capability through the Connected Workspace. Solution The project included: Staff travel patterns analysis to identifying suitable locationsDesign and delivery of a Mitie Workplace StrategyDesign and agreement of the design floorplateComplete fit-outImplementation of workplace change management. The final recommended solution was designed to meet Mitie’s current and future operational needs. Outcome Mitie moved 600 people into the iconic “Shard” building supporting fully flexible working featuring a workspace with innovative design, Connected Workspace integration and industry leading audio-visual capabilities. The use of Agile Workplace principles and Wellbeing best practices, during the design and build programme, ensured a smooth relocation and business continuity. Proactive programme management ensured delivery on time, to cost and to the highest standards.
