Scaling electric mobility

Mitie’s vehicle fleet grew to 6,406 EVs during FY26, reinforcing its position as one of the UK’s largest commercial electric fleets. While growth was more measured than in previous years due to fleet optimisation and contract changes, electrification remains a core component of Mitie’s decarbonisation strategy.

The transition has contributed to a 37% reduction in petrol and diesel emissions over the last four years, demonstrating the role fleet electrification can play in supporting long-term Net Zero ambitions.

Expanding access to low-carbon transport

Alongside fleet transformation, Mitie continues to make electric mobility more accessible for colleagues. During FY26, the business launched a salary sacrifice vehicle scheme available to 17,000 employees, supporting access to electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles while reducing barriers to adoption.

The company also strengthened its charging infrastructure, installing an additional 422 home charging points during the year. As a result, Mitie now supports more than 4,400 EV charge points across colleagues’ homes, Mitie locations and customer sites, helping enable practical and reliable use of EVs at scale.

Supporting long-term decarbonisation

Mitie’s fleet transition is supported by strategic initiatives designed to improve affordability and accelerate adoption. During FY26, the company adopted a secondary leasing model through Lex Autolease, increasing access to EVs at a lower cost while supporting continued emissions reductions.

By combining fleet electrification, charging infrastructure investment and innovative mobility solutions, Mitie is helping reduce transport emissions while enabling a practical pathway towards Net Zero operations.
